Explore the Town of Sintra

Today will be a day to remember as you will head up to Sintra for a day of exploring the town of Sintra & the underground caves at the Quinta da Regaleira Castle. Begin with time to visit the center of the historic village of Sintra with the opportunity to taste the region's sweets and much more as Sintra is a testament to almost every era in Portugal's history. We will then head up the street to Quinta da Regaleira is the "Cultural Landscape of Sintra" to explore the World Heritage Site's lush gardens, lakes, old grottoes, underground caves, and the historic "Palace of Monteiro the Millionaire" in which the castle surrounds.

Please meet in the main lobby for bus departures for Sintra, we recommend you eating breakfast at the hotel before we depart. 

Itinerary is as follows:

10:15am: Depart Hotel as a group (we recommend eating breakfast prior to departing the hotel).

10:45am: Group arrives at Quinta da Regaleira Castle. You will have 90 minutes for a self-guided tour. We will provide a map! The grounds take approximately 1 hour to 90 minutes to explore at a quick pace. We will provide a map with the 3 highlights and the best walking approach. We ask all guests to be at Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais at 12:30pm. You can walk left out of the exit of Quinta da Regaleria Castle up the hill 3 minutes and you will see the hotel setback on the right in 350 meters.

12:30-1:00pm: Welcome Cocktail in the Valverde Garden

1:00-2:30pm: Lunch at Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais

2:30pm: Depart for Hotel

 

 

Tuk Tuk Food Tour

Explore Lisbon in a unique way with this tour by electric tuk tuk, an eco-friendly way to travel around the city's narrow streets. You'll be driven by a guide, who have an education in tourism and leisure, through historical neighborhoods like Alfama and Mouraria, and stop at a viewpoint for photo ops of the city. During the tour, we will stop and grab a bite to eat and a drink at some of the best local dining locations.

Your tour guide will have in-depth knowledge of the history, culture, art and architecture so you can learn more about and discover the secrets of the capital of Portugal. It is a perfect way to get a broad idea of everything you can enjoy the city in your travel days. And also the best possible photographic tour for the traveler.

Please meet in the hotel lobby by 9:45 AM to board the Tuk Tuks and depart the hotel by 10:00 AM. During the tour, you will make stops at many of Lisbon's top tourist destinations and landmarks. We recommend eating breakfast prior to the tour as the food stop where food and drinks will be provided will occur toward the end of the tour! You will return to the hotel by 1:30 PM.

 

Local Cooking Class

During this cooking experience in Lisbon, learn to prepare Portuguese dishes under the guidance of an expert chef. Instead of just eating culinary classics, master basic techniques, prepare ingredients, taste wine and olive oil, and learn about the history of Portuguese cuisine. The group will have the opportunity to embrace the local culture in the kitchen and at the end of the experience, try to the dish you worked so hard on preparing!

Please meet in the lobby at 10:00 AM to head to Cooking Lisbon. The class begins at 10:30 AM will run for about 3.5 hours and you will return to the hotel around 2:00 PM.
